Netflix’s One Piece Live Action Season 2 Teaser Shows Tony Tony Chopper Reveal

Tony Tony Chopper Reveal

Almost two years after Netflix’s One Piece Live Action first came out, fans have finally gotten a big update about Season 2. At the Tudum 2025 global fan event, Netflix showed the first teaser for the new season. The biggest surprise was the Tony Tony Chopper Reveal.

Fans of the anime and manga know Chopper as the cute, blue-nosed reindeer who is also a doctor. In the teaser, Chopper appeared as a CGI (computer-generated) character, saying hello to fans and talking about the “new friends” joining the crew when the show returns in 2026.

Fans were very excited to see Chopper, as he’s been a favorite character for a long time. He has a touching backstory, a unique look, and a lovable personality, making him one of the most special members of the Straw Hat crew. The teaser at the Tudum event promised that the new season would be “bigger” than before

The cast joked that the crew would get “a little bigger,” which was a fun way to hint at Chopper’s small size but big role. Even though we didn’t get all the details about his part in the story, fans now know for sure that Chopper will appear in the live-action show, something many have been hoping for since Season 1 ended.

The One Piece Live Action Has Been a Major Hit for Netflix

One Piece Live Action came out on Netflix in August 2023 and became one of the most successful live-action anime shows ever made. Both fans and critics liked how closely it followed the original manga, how colorful and fun the world felt, and how good the actors were.

It quickly became the most-watched show on Netflix during the second half of 2023. Because it was so popular, Netflix quickly decided to make a second season. The first season was led by showrunners Matt Owens and Steven Maeda.

They worked closely with the original manga creator, Eiichiro Oda, to make sure the show stayed true to his vision. For Season 2, Joe Tracz is taking over as the showrunner.

He said he’s excited to be part of the show and that One Piece is one of the biggest and most loved stories he’s ever worked on. He also said he’s happy to help tell a larger and more emotional story as the crew heads into the Grand Line.

The main actors from Season 1 are coming back. Inaki Godoy will return as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Other characters, like Vincent Regan’s Garp and Jeff Ward’s Buggy the Clown, are also expected to return in Season 2.

Season 2 Expands the World and Cast Significantly

One Piece Live Action

Season 2 of One Piece Live Action will focus on the famous Drum Island arc, one of the most emotional parts of the early story. This arc tells the sad backstory of Chopper and shows his time with his teachers, Dr. Kureha and Dr. Hiruluk. Katey Sagal, a well-known actress, will play Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik will play Dr. Hiruluk.

Other new characters joining the cast include Callum Kerr as Smoker, Clive Russell as Crocus, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Ty Keogh as Dalton. The growing number of new characters shows that Season 2 will be bigger and explore more of the Grand Line, including the rising threat from the World Government.

Matt Owens, one of the creators, said that the team always planned to include Chopper in Season 2 and that adding Dr. Kureha was an important part of making that happen. He also mentioned that the original manga creator, Eiichiro Oda, confirmed that fans would meet Chopper in this season, showing how closely the show follows the original story.

With a mix of real sets, CGI effects, and a passionate cast, One Piece Season 2 is shaping up to be another exciting chapter in the Straw Hats’ journey. The show is set to stream in 2026, and it promises to continue bringing the world of the Grand Line to life, one beloved character at a time.
